Let’s talk about applying that herb that you just purchased to your everyday life.

Maybe you have been reading about what a “miracle” it has been for others. You can’t wait to start taking it. You feel better already, just thinking about it! So, you take it for a few days, maybe a week or two. But, you really don’t feel any better. What happened? Were you not taking the herb correctly? Was it a “bad” batch? Is the herb not all it’s cooked up to be? Good grief! It’s been a week.

Ok, calm down, sit down, we’re going to have a talk.  The first thing you need to remember is that this is an herb, it is not a pharmaceutical! Herbs work gently. They work with your body, not against it. It can take longer to see results because the herb, generally speaking, does not bombard the body. There is no shock and awe!

The key to embracing herbs is consistency. I have often said, and I will say it again, a tincture is not Jesus in a bottle, you must actually take the tincture, you cannot walk past the bottle everyday and say, “why, hello tincture.” What do you expect that to do? TAKE THE TINCTURE! Any form of herb must be consumed! It may take a month of regular consumption for the herb to work.

Herbs shine in chronic situations. They will dig in and begin working their hardest to right the ship.   They can also be helpful in acute situations. I’m thinking about cuts, bruises, colds, sinus issues, “normal” headaches, sore throats, etc., etc.

If you are having a major heart episode, a stroke, a life threatening burn, a broken bone or pro-longed vomiting, see a doctor or go to the hospital. I love herbs. I eat, breathe and sleep herbs. But sweeties there are just times when you need a medical intervention along with pharmaceuticals. Not often, but it does happen.

I suppose I said all that to say this, use herbs, they work but you must actually take them, not just think about it. Wishful thinking will not activate the herb. If your health situation goes south, especially if a child is involved, seek a doctor’s advice. Next time I write we are going to talk about the herbal lifestyle so that your need for pharmaceuticals and medical interventions is truly saved for life threatening emergencies.
